How this site is funded
SpinCompass earns money from commercial links. When a reader clicks through to an operator from this site and later opens an account, we may be paid a fee by that operator or by the affiliate programme representing it. Every such link on this site passes through our own redirect and is marked as sponsored, so readers can see what is commercial before clicking. Reading SpinCompass costs nothing, and we do not sell subscriptions, courses, or tips.
That is the entire business model. There is no second revenue stream we are being coy about.
What commission does not do
Ranking positions are not for sale, and this is the part of the policy we expect to be judged on.
A higher commission rate does not raise a score, because scores are calculated from the seven weighted criteria in our methodology and there is no line item in that formula for what we get paid. An operator that pays us nothing can outrank one that pays us well, and where that happens we do not intervene.
We also do not accept payment to remove or soften a negative finding, to delete a disqualification, or to leave a competitor out of a comparison. Requests of that kind arrive from time to time. They are declined and the review stays as written.
Some operators we cover have no commercial relationship with us at all. We include them when they are relevant to the comparison, because a top list built only from partners is an advertisement rather than a ranking.
Who decides
Scores are assigned by the editor who ran the test, using the published scale, and reviewed by a second editor before publication. Commercial arrangements are handled separately from the editorial process, and the person negotiating a rate does not set or approve a score.
Where a scoring decision is genuinely borderline, we round towards the reader rather than towards the operator. A withdrawal that settled at the edge of the 24-hour band is recorded in the slower band.
Where our facts come from
Operator terms, cashier pages, and bonus conditions are taken from the operator's own site, archived at the date of the review, and compared on each revision. Withdrawal timings come from our own logged requests, never from the operator's marketing claims about processing windows. Licensing is taken from public registers only.
We do not republish operator press releases as editorial. We do not accept pre-written reviews, guest posts, or supplied copy of any kind, paid or unpaid.
Bonus figures go stale
Offers change without notice, and an amount or wagering multiple that was correct on the day we checked may not be correct today. Every page carries the date it was last verified. The operator's own terms are the binding version, and we say so rather than pretending our snapshot outranks them.
Mistakes
We will get things wrong. When we do, the correction goes on the page itself rather than into a quiet edit: what was wrong, what it should say, and the date of the fix. Scores that change as a result show the old number alongside the new one. Nothing is deleted to make the record look cleaner.
If a claim on this site cannot be supported when we go back to check it, the claim comes off. That applies to figures in favour of an operator and figures against one, in equal measure.
What we will not publish
Strategies presented as ways to beat a house edge. Predictions about when a game is due to pay. Any suggestion that gambling is a route to income, debt repayment, or financial recovery. Content aimed at anyone under 18, or written in a register designed to appeal to them.
We also do not describe an operator as legal, licensed, or regulated in a jurisdiction where the register does not show it.
Independence in practice
Our editors do not hold financial interests in the operators covered on this site, and do not accept personal gifts, hospitality, or bonus credits from operators or affiliate programmes. Test deposits are funded by the publication and treated as an expense, so the money at risk in a test is ours.
